FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[PLANO, TX] – Artist Mel Auberty Selected for Texas Sculpts IV at ArtCentre of Plano, a juried exhibition presented by the ArtCentre of Plano. The show runs from July 5 through August 30, 2025, with opening receptions scheduled for Friday, July 11 from 5–7 p.m. and Saturday, July 12 from 2–4 p.m.
Auberty’s current series features bronze figures of dancers in motion. Capturing expressive ballet poses, each piece reflects the energy and momentum of the human form in movement. Her approach emphasizes texture and form, allowing the physicality of each pose to emerge through organic surfaces and subtle detail.
“I’m looking forward to sharing this current series through Texas Sculpts IV,” said Auberty. “It’s an honor to be part of a show that highlights the range of sculptural work happening in Texas.”
Auberty has maintained a studio near Glen Rose, Texas for over 15 years. Her current sculpture work focuses on the human figure and is shaped by a deep connection to movement, gesture, and natural form.

The Saigling House, home of the ArtCentre of Plano, has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
Texas Sculpts IV is hosted at the ArtCentre of Plano, located at 902 East 16th Street, Plano, Texas 75074. For more information about the exhibition, visit artcentreofplano.org
