A Collaboration

My Picasso inspired backdrop was originally produced for Dallas’ avante garde theater, Ochre House, for their original play “Perro y Sangre.”

Written about the Andalusian poet, Frederico Garcia Lorca, the setting was in the time at which Picasso painted his famous protest painting, “Guernica.” The play was showcased in New York City, where the backdrop was the lone stand in-for the original set.

Mel’s good friend and flamenco dancer, Delilah Buitron, asked to borrow the backdrop for the Flamenco Foundation’s showcase of “Flamenco in the Golden Age of Hollywood,” at the Latino Cultural Center of Dallas.

The event featured costumes by world reknowned dancers from stage and screen.
