Works by Mel Auberty

On View at Gallery 123, Dallas Design District

DALLAS, TX (June 1, 2026) – Gallery 123 in the Dallas Design District continues to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Year of the Horse: Works by Mel Auberty, an engaging exhibition now on view through summer 2026.

Centered on the work of Dallas-based artist Mel Auberty, the exhibition features expressive equine paintings, sketches, and sculpture that reflect more than two decades of her exploration of the horse as subject and symbol. Auberty’s “Blue Horse” paintings—recognized for their gestural energy and emotional depth—anchor the presentation.

“I was born in the Year of the Horse, which returns only once every 12 years, so this moment feels especially personal to me,” Auberty says. “This is a Fire Horse year, associated with passion, movement, and vitality.”

Expanding beyond a solo presentation, the extended exhibition also features works by fellow Gallery 123 artists Chuck Alexander, Linda Karns, Amy Werntz, Larry Whiteley, and Lisa Whiteley, creating a dynamic dialogue around movement, nature, and contemporary expression.

As founder of Blue Horse Sanctuary, Auberty’s work extends beyond the studio, with proceeds from her equine art supporting the care and rehabilitation of rescued horses and donkeys.
